About the Uzbekistan Classic 7 Day Tour
This Uzbekistan classic 7 day tour follows a complete route across the country’s main historical cities, including Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. The itinerary is designed to connect these destinations in a logical sequence, keeping travel time efficient while covering key cultural and architectural sites.
During this journey, you visit historic city centers, major landmarks, and locations that reflect Uzbekistan’s development along regional trade routes. Many of these destinations are featured in international travel resources such as Uzbekistan’s official tourism platform and Lonely Planet Uzbekistan guide.
The program combines guided visits with organized transfers, creating a balanced pace across all seven days. For shorter routes, you can also view the Uzbekistan Silk Road 6 day tour or the Tashkent Samarkand Bukhara 5 day tour.
Hazrati Imam Complex → Islamic Civilization Center → Kukeldash Madrasah → Chorsu Bazaar (free time, historical urban context)
Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum → Imam Maturidi Mausoleum → Ulugh Beg Observatory → Khazrati Khizr Mosque → Bibi-Khanym Mosque → Siab Bazaar (free time)
Konigil Village (traditional handmade paper workshop) → Imam al-Bukhari Memorial Complex → Registan Square
Sayyid Amir Kulal → Bahauddin Naqshband Mausoleum → Chor Minor Mosque → Sitora Mohi Hosa (Bukhara Emirs’ Summer Residence)
Itchan Kala (Inner City) → Dishan Kala (Outer City) → Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum → Juma Mosque → Kalta Minor Minaret → Tash-Hovli Palace
This classic route is meticulously planned to cover four of Uzbekistan’s most prominent historical centers in a single week: the modern capital of Tashkent, the majestic Timurid monuments of Samarkand, the ancient holy streets of Bukhara, and the intact open-air city museum of Khiva.
On Day 5, you will travel from Bukhara to Khiva via a comfortable, air-conditioned tour bus, allowing you to witness the expansive landscapes of the Kyzylkum Desert and experience the authentic geographical scale of the ancient Silk Road trading paths.
Yes, your schedule on Day 2 features a dedicated evening visit to Registan Square in Samarkand to witness the spectacular illumination of the three grand madrasahs, which offers an entirely different visual experience compared to the daytime guided tour.
To maximize your exploration time and keep the 7-day pacing comfortable, we include a domestic flight from Khiva back to Tashkent on the evening of Day 6, entirely bypassing a grueling 14-hour overland return drive.
While covering classic Silk Road architecture, this tour highlights Central Asia’s profound intellectual history by including guided visits to the Imam Al-Bukhari Memorial Complex and the Imam Maturidi Mausoleum in Samarkand, alongside the Bahauddin Naqshband complex in Bukhara.
On Day 3, the tour features a visit to the traditional Konigil Village near Samarkand, where you will observe a specialized workshop demonstrating the ancient, local methods of producing handmade mulberry paper that made the region famous during the Middle Ages.
The physical demand is moderate. While you will comfortably transition between cities via high-speed Afrosiyob trains and private vehicles, exploring the historic citadel of the Ark in Bukhara and the cobblestone alleyways of Itchan Kala in Khiva requires walking on uneven surfaces.
Daily breakfasts at your hotels and structured set-menu dinners are fully included, while lunches are left open so you can independently explore local culinary highlights like the vibrant Chorsu Bazaar in Tashkent or the Siab Bazaar in Samarkand.
The inclusion of Khiva is the defining factor. While shorter itineraries limit your travel to the central Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara loop, this 7-day program allows you to reach the remote western oasis of Khiva without feeling rushed, thanks to our synchronized internal flight.
